The Belizean Writers & Poets Society is proud to announce its 3rd Annual LIK IT Poetry Festival taking place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2008, at the Bliss Centre for the Performing Arts. The festival will feature over 16 Belizean poets, showcasing their lyrical gift and rigorous passion for poetry. This year’s performers include Dr. Corinth Morter-Lewis, Andre Marsden, Leroy “Bass” Castillo, Amado Chan, Adele Ramos, Kalilah Enriquez, Edward Broaster and more. There will also be special guest appearances by the songstress, Jazel Pascascio and by the Sambai dancers of Gales Point.

This major fundraising event, yearly anticipated and well received by the community, has advanced to become an exclusive signature of the Society as it continues to celebrate an annual success; thanks to our sponsors, some of which are: Bowen & Bowen, Habet & Habet, National Institute of Culture & History, Slingshot Advertising, and KREM Radio and Television.

All proceeds from the LIK IT Festival are geared towards the continuous expansion of the Belizean Writers & Poets Society, in focus of its main objective - to actively promote the use of writing as a positive alternative to violence, crime and juvenile delinquency, by empowering individuals to express themselves.
